To set group failover policy
- Open Cluster Administrator.
- In the console tree, click the Groups folder.
- In the details pane, click the appropriate group.
- On the File menu, click Properties.
- On the Failover tab, type values for Threshold and Period.

- The failover policy for a group is the maximum number of times (Threshold) that the group is allowed to fail over in the specified number of hours (Period) before it is left in a failed state. If a group fails over more often than this, the Cluster service leaves it offline. For example, if a group failover threshold is set to 5 and its failover period to 3, the Cluster service will fail over the group at most five times within a three-hour period. The sixth time a resource in the group fails, the Cluster service fails all other resources in the group and leaves the entire group offline instead of failing over the group.
